Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015)

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home & Community and Disability) is a course designed for individuals who are interested in the Aged Care and Home and Community and Disability industry. Aged Care workers provide personal care and assistance for the ageing and aged people in nursing homes, respite and residential care facilities. Working in the Aged Care industry is challenging, however, making a difference in the lives of our elderly is quite rewarding. You will learn the necessary skills required to provide care for them including physical, emotional, psychological and behavioural needs. You will learn all of the necessary requirements to meet their needs and people living with disabilities, including their physical, emotional, social, recreational and cultural needs. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to gain employment in residential aged care as well as in home and community care.

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home & Community and Disability) takes approximately 1 year to complete, but students can take a shorter period depending on their life experiences, level of qualification and mode of study they undertake. This time frame includes class time and supervised work placement in an Aged Care, Nursing, Home & Community and/or Disability services setting.
On average a learner should allocate twenty hours per week for learning and assessments.

All JTI students use blended modes of learning which include:
•    Classroom based learning (face-to-face)
•    Online learning (through our learning management system and online classes)
•    Work Placement

The compulsory requirement for this qualification is 120 hours of work placement. Delivery of work placement hours are determined by the facility and your specialisation.
JTI does not provide work placement for Home and Community, if you want to specialise in Home and Community, you must either work in the industry or be willing to organise your own placement.
